Owwwww

Being the old man that I now am with a job and a baby and all that, I hit the sack around 8:30ish tonight.  I woke up around 10:40 with a pretty severe toothache.  After sitting in bed for a while I got up and took some painkillers, something I've had to do a few times today.  I tried to lay back down but the pain was too severe...hopefully the meds will kick in soon and I'll be able to get back to sleep for school tomorrow.  It feels like I may have to get a root canal on this tooth that I had work done on last Wednesday.  That would make three...but a root canal would be a welcome sweet release from this pain.  Good Lord.  It's pretty lousy timing...my dentist is closed Mondays.

I highly recommend everybody go to the dentist every six months, brush and floss twice daily.  You'll save yourself a lot of pain and money.

Redoing Root Canal

Today I get to go to the dentist to have one of my root canals redone.  The tooth has remained sensitive and whatnot; the guy looked at it to see what was wrong but couldn't determine exactly why I could still feel pain in the tooth.  So today I'm going in and he's going to redo the root canal.  And I get to pay a couple hundred more bucks for the pleasure.  I hope he figures out what da prollum is, because while sitting in a reclining chair is cool, doing so with a rubber dam shoved in your mouth while someone scrapes the inside of your teeth kinda blows.

I had a second root canal scheduled for this past Tuesday and I cancelled it, thinking I would be able to hold off for at least the rest of the year because it had stopped hurting. The tooth had remained a bit sensitive to pressure but mostly felt fine. Yesterday something happened (I'm not sure what) and the tooth is way more painful than it has ever been. It is throbbing right now, and touching it results in very bad things. Figures this would happen on a Saturday morning. I am hoping/praying the dentist calls me back today so I can get this taken care of tomorrow or something. Tooth pain sucks. At least after this root canal is done I'll really be done with all this tooth stuff. I have a few fillings that need to be done but those are easy.

I am spending today, as I spend most Mondays, up at school. I'm on my long break between classes trying to get things done. I just spent the last few hours (three straight hours) reading through books on the literary qualities of Zechariah, and why the vision in Chapter 3 may or may not be included in the numbering of the visions through the book. The project this is for is taking a lot more work/thought/effort than I originally thought it would. I'm feeling a bit overloaded with the numerous things I have to get done this week...coupled with the fact that I am sick and have to visit the dentist for some extensive work again on Thursday...ugh.
