Read This

If you consider yourself a Christian, I really think you need to read this.  I enjoyed it and think I could stand to take the message to heart.

Oh my goodness! If anyone other than you said "if you consider yourself a Christian, I really think you need to read this." I would click it under "report spam." But I we'll see.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having certain convictions regarding different issues in this world. But I disagree with that guy on a few things. There definitely are areas that as believers, we should be black and white on. I'm not going to start another holy war, so I'll just leave it at that. :)

Ricky, I think that guy would agree with your statement that there are some black and white things, or some things that if you do believe it means you can't really call yourself a Christian. He's just calling us to think about what it is we all put on that list, and to be more gracious in how we disagree with one another.

I can't think of any condition short of direct knowledge from God by which I could say that a person who claimed to be was not a real Christian. Early in my Christian walk I didn't hold any of the right beliefs (as Jackson could testify) but I was still a Christian (which God will proclaim at the end times). I was just a Christian in need of disciplship.
All of those distinctions that the Internet Monk brought up would not disqualify a person as an actual Christian but they might disqualify a Christian from church endorsed teaching positions and in extreme cases might disqualify a Christian from fellowship for a time. But certainly neither of those decisions would be taken casually by a Biblical standard.
